My birthday in Madrid - part II

After leaving the palace gardens we decided to walk home.  Everything really is within walking distance in Madrid so it wasn't that far to walk.  On the way home we got to see some cool pieces of architecture that Madrid is famous for.

The Metropolis building.  One of Madrid's signature buildings

The Rolex building

We got back to the hotel and took a little nap.  By day three our feet were really sore already and we needed our afternoon naps everyday.  We had 7:30 pm dinner reservations at Las Carboneras flamenco restaurant that a very  nice lady at the hotel made for us and we didn't want to be late.  We ended up being the first people there and got an amazing table right in front of the stage.  The restaurant did fill up later on and the food was so good.  We had chicken and potatoes and sangria.  It was like an American meal.  The flamenco show was so good and we got to take a lot of pictures.

That's me waiting at the restaurant

Our dinner.  So good.

The dancers and the musicians

One of the girls dancing

All of them dancing.  The guy looks like he worked really hard.

We left the restaurant at around 10 pm I'm guessing and we decided to walk around a while to see what was going on in the city.  Italy had just won the Champions soccer game and I was sure there would be a lot of partying going on.  There wasn't.  The squares were all pretty quiet but the night before had been crazy with fans.  We decided to go home and go to bed.  Sunday was going to be our final full day in Madrid and we wanted to be up early to make the most of it.
